Your Community 

The problem 

Target wants to take action to advance Social Justice & Racial Equity to create opportunities for employees. Target would like to increase internal membership to their REACH program in order to create events to better communities.

The Challenge 

Create an interactive workspace for employees to feel comfortable with their team, with themselves and with being able to be seen and heard in the community and in our company.

Frustrations:

• Lisa is extremely upset about the inequalities that Black people currently face in this country.
• She doesn’t like to waste time and make sure she used all of her time wisely.

Goals:
• Play a hand in real social change.

Motivation:

• Inspiring other young people to make a difference.

Research

Target kicked off the work with a $10 million pledge to advance social justice and support our communities.

Target has established REACH—our Racial Equity Action and Change committee—to create an action plan to guide our way. 

Target has been working towards creating opportunities by partnering with local consumers and minority businesses to promote this initiative.

February 

The purpose of this event is to create company involvement and networking opportunities for employees. REACH Casino Night will Institute antiracism education for team members through training that is fun and interactive, to build a culture where they feel welcome and equal.

February-June

We want to bring notoriety to coworkers that impact the community. We will highlight and publish employee profiles of REACH members/ employees that do things to influence the community, showing their impact. Information will be sent out by Intranet/ Company wall Monthly Owned by REACH Committee co-led by HR and store management Instagram- We will post pics of the person being involved in the community with a specific #TargetsREACHes and give them a gift and certificate with target logos.

February-June 

We will create ways for employees to be involved in the company, the community and with each other. Employees will submit videos internally to explain why we should partner with that organization. 

Every month we will pick a winner and go volunteer or create an event for that cause.
